Throughout her 16-year career in education, Mrs. Regina Arzamendi Moreno has been a steadfast advocate for children and their access to quality education. She firmly believes that “education is the equalizer to opportunity,” a belief that is at the core of her mission and values. Her actions speak volumes, giving voice to the children and community she serves. Her unwavering commitment to seeking opportunities ensuring that every student, regardless of socio-economic conditions, has access and opportunity to succeed after high school is a testament to her dedication to the students she is privileged to serve.
Mrs. Moreno’s career in education began serving primarily as a middle school Math, Science, and AVID teacher in a Title I district in San Antonio, Texas. After transitioning to the field of education from a previous career as a licensed commercial interior designer, she knew that making a positive difference in the lives of others was her calling. Mrs. Moreno found passion in serving the underserved who may not have been afforded the same opportunities as students in more affluent districts. Having expanded upon her leadership role as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal serving 6th-12th grade students, she has had the privilege of supporting a model that promotes excellence in education so that all students have access to colleges and universities at the state and national level.
Mrs. Moreno attained her B.S. in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin, B.S. in Family and Consumer Science – Interior Design from Texas State University, and her M.S. in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
With God’s grace and the love of her supportive husband and two children, Mrs. Moreno says it truly is her honor and privilege to share her passion, dedication, and commitment with the students, parents, staff, and the ZECLA community.
