All other employee referrals must meet the following criteria:
Referred candidate for a position as a Bus Driver must hold a valid CDL at the time the application is completed and at time of hire.
If more than one person refers the same candidate, the referral bonus will be awarded to the first official referral received, as noted by the date/time the referral form was submitted.
Who is eligible to receive the employee referral incentive?
All current Somerset ISD employees are eligible for the Employee Teacher Referral Incentive except for the following positions: assistant principals, district-level administrator, part-time employees, and substitutes.
What is the referral process?
An Online Referral Form must be completed prior to the candidate submitting an application.
If the employee making the referral does not complete the Employee Referral Form before the referred candidate is recommended, the referral is ineligible for the incentive.
You will be notified by the Human Resources Department if your referral meets the requirements.

When is a referral paid?
Employees referring candidates will receive payment after the newly hired employee to Somerset ISD has been employed for a minimum of 90 days. Human Resources staff will follow-up with eligible referrals.
How many referrals may be submitted?
Employees may submit any number of referrals, however are eligible to only receive a total of four referral payments during any fiscal year period (September – August).
Are all positions eligible?
The bonus only applies to full-time positions for teachers and bus drivers, as high demand positions.
Somerset ISD makes no guarantees that a referred candidate will be hired by the district.
