teachers holding grants

Somerset, TX – The Somerset ISD Education Foundation is thrilled to announce the distribution of over $56,000 in classroom grants during its annual Surprise Patrol event on Tuesday, October 1st. This year’s grants total $56,773.56, marking the highest amount ever awarded by the Foundation.

The festivities kicked off at 8:00 a.m. at Bulldog Stadium, where the Surprise Patrol bus—accompanied by Lytle’s HEB Buddy, Somerset High School cheerleaders, and the drumline— embarked on a morning-long celebration across five campuses. The energy was high as the group surprised educators with a total of 28 grants. These grants will fund innovative and impactful projects such as an outdoor discovery center, literacy-based robots, an elementary news studio, and a prom night for life skills students.

“We are excited to recognize and support the incredible work of our teachers through these grants,” said Susie Pool, Executive Director of the Somerset ISD Education Foundation. “These projects represent the creativity and dedication of our educators, and we are proud to help bring their visions to life.”

This event highlights the ongoing commitment of the Somerset ISD Education Foundation, administration, and community partners to enhance educational opportunities for all students. The celebration featured pep rallies, performances by the cheer team and band, and plenty of joyful surprises.
